A Few Ground Rules

Welcome to Adventures in Faith Forest!

We’re glad you’re here! We believe creativity is worth sharing, imagination should be encouraged, and a little laughter makes just about everything better.

That said, even a magical forest needs a few ground rules. Here’s how you can enjoy and share our creative work while respecting the rights of those who make it possible.

1. Our Stuff Is Our Stuff. (Mostly. Let’s Explain.)

Our website features original stories, song lyrics, music, characters, illustrations, animations, videos, branding, and other creative content.

Much of this work combines human creativity with generative AI, and we recognize that copyright protections don’t apply equally to everything AI helps create.

Here’s how we approach ownership:

• Human-created work: We reserve all applicable copyright rights in our original human-authored content, including original song lyrics, writing, and other qualifying creative contributions.
• AI-assisted creations: Works incorporating AI-generated content may qualify for copyright protection when they contain sufficient original human authorship, including qualifying creative modifications, selections, or arrangements.
• Purely AI-generated material: We recognize that content generated entirely by AI, without sufficient human authorship, generally does not qualify for copyright protection under current U.S. law. We do not claim copyright in such material standing alone.
• Our brand: Our names, logos, and other brand identifiers may be protected under applicable trademark laws, independently of copyright.

We reserve the intellectual property rights we hold under applicable law. We do not claim rights in material that the law does not protect.

In other words, we’re happy to share the magic. We’re just not giving away the whole treehouse.

Our Music. Our Rights.

Music is a big part of what makes Faith Forest magical, and we take our creative rights seriously.

Our music is produced using paid, commercially licensed music-generation tools. We maintain the ownership and commercial usage rights granted under those agreements.

Our original human-written song lyrics and other qualifying human-created musical contributions are protected by applicable copyright law. We also recognize that purely AI-generated musical elements may not independently qualify for copyright protection.

Our songs and recordings are shared for your listening enjoyment, not as an invitation to copy, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit material in which we hold rights.

We love sharing the music. We’re just not giving away the whole orchestra!

2. Free Means Free!

We love offering free coloring sheets and downloadable activities for families, teachers, churches, and libraries.

Need something fun for a rainy afternoon? A little creative entertainment on a road trip? Something to keep the kiddos occupied while you attempt to enjoy a cup of coffee that’s still warm?

Teachers, we see you. That mysterious 12 minutes between finishing a lesson and dismissal isn’t going to fill itself.

Print those coloring sheets!

You’re welcome to download and print our free resources for personal, educational, and other noncommercial activities, including use in classrooms, churches, and library programs.

We do have a few simple requests:

• Please don’t sell our free downloads. We’re already giving them away. We’d rather not see them suddenly appearing in somebody else’s shopping cart with a price tag.
• Please don’t redistribute our original downloadable files. We love sharing! Just send people to our website to download their own copies. That way, everyone gets the latest version, including any corrections to those occasional six-legged donkeys.
• Please keep our branding and copyright notices intact. Where included, please leave them in place on the original materials. Our little woodland friends deserve to know where they came from.
• Please don’t use our protected creative work or brand commercially without permission. That includes merchandise, advertising, or products featuring our protected content. Jasper may be willing to work for donuts, but he hasn’t signed any endorsement deals.

These permissions describe the free, limited use we’re offering for our downloadable materials to the extent we hold applicable rights in them. They do not restrict uses otherwise permitted by law, including fair use or use of material in the public domain.

Want to do something special with our resources? Just ask! We’re always happy to consider creative ideas.

3. Sometimes Things Go Wrong.

We make every reasonable effort to review and edit our content before publishing.

But we’re human. And we’re working with AI.

Sometimes the results are amazing. Sometimes a character develops an extra set of legs, a mysterious third ear, or an expression that nobody ordered.

That’s why we have Saturday Sillies with Faith Forest Flops!

While we strive for quality and accuracy, our content and free resources are provided “as is,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you spot something that needs our attention, we’d appreciate hearing from you.

Unless it’s hilarious. Then we might save it for Saturday.

4. Sometimes Things Change.

As Adventures in Faith Forest grows, we may update our website, creative resources, or these Terms of Use.

The latest version will always be available on this page.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free resources and services at our discretion.

We’ll do our best to keep things running smoothly, but sometimes even the best-laid plans take an unexpected detour through the forest.
